You take your lunch break in front of your workstation or skip it occasionally due to work pressure? In today’s fast paced life people in corporate think that break is a just waste of productive time; however these breaks are essential to rejuvenate you and enhance your work productivity. There are a few things which you can do during your lunch break which can make you healthier.

Stretch Yourself

Get up from your workstation and stretch your body. Stretching helps to improve your flexibility and reduce the risk of joint pains and muscle strains. It also helps in improving the alignment of the spine. The best part about stretching is that you can do it anywhere and anytime.

Catch up with your Colleagues

Sharing your knowledge and experience with colleagues helps in reducing your stress and lifts your mood. It helps you to break the boredom; hence catching up with your colleagues is definitely a best way to make use of your lunch break.

Take a Walk

Sitting at your workstation for longer duration increases number of health issues. Have a walk for atleast 10 to 15 minutes after having your lunch. Walking helps to improve your mood and also helps in preventing various health affecting diseases.

Meditation

Best thing about meditation is that you can practice it at your workstation or in recreation or rest room of your organization. Meditation has several benefits on our health. It facilitates in balancing the body and decrease anxiety and stress levels. It improves attention, immunity and boosts the mood which helps in improving productivity of your work.

Exercise at workstation during lunch break has now become a trend among health freak individuals. It helps to maintain body weight and also keeps you active post-lunch. It is always advisable to do exercise in consultation with physiotherapist, so that they can guide you properly and design the exercise plan according to your health requirements.
