As people age they need assistance to carry out their daily tasks; however they struggle to admit to this thing to their family and loved ones. There might be various reasons such as they may not realize that they need help or desire to stay independent. You will have to identify the signs that your loved one needs assistance. Following are few signs which can be an indicator that your parent or loved one may need caregiver:

Weight Loss

Weight loss is one of the sign which can be easily identified in elders. The reason behind this may be not eating healthy food or unable to cook food on their own.

Cleaning Problem

Your loved ones who have been maintained clutter-free home for ages and now you observe dirt and mess piled up in places such as soiled dishes piled up, heap of dust is also an indicator that they need assistance.

Poor Hygiene

Wearing same clothes on regular basis or wearing untidy clothes by your parents can be another sign to watch out. As people age they find difficult to perform tasks related to hygiene such as washing clothes, bathing, grooming, etc.

Withdrawal From Social Interactions

Not attending family events or very less interaction with friends or neighbours can be indication that elderly person is trying to isolate themselves because they may be anxious or confused at the thought of any social interactions.

Poor Memory

Skipping medications or visit to doctor, missing bill payments are some of the cases that acts as an indicator your loved ones have started losing their ability to remember essential details due to aging process.
